BNT took the TV rights of M-Tel Masters

(Sofia, 26 April, 2009) The Bulgarian national television took the broadcasting rights for the super chess tournament M-Tel Masters 2009, which will start on 12 May on the square in front of the National Theatre Ivan Vazov. For the title up to 23 May will compete the leader in the world ranking Veselin Topalov, Magnus Carlsen from Norway, the last year’s winner Vassily Ivanchuk from Ukraine, Leinier Dominguez from Cuba, Alexei Shirov from Spain and Yue Wang from China. This year again the competition will be under the patronage of the President of Bulgaria George Parvanov.

Every day from 12 to 23 May BNT 1 will broadcast highlights from the chess duels. The fans of the ancient game will be able to follow the games through 10 minutes live broadcasts on the satellite channel BNT Sat. The host for all the reports from the glass pavilion will be the famous journalist Krasimir Kushev, who is the author of the one and only program for chess in Bulgaria - 64 squares.

Over 20 journalists from USA, Russia, England, Scotland, India, Greece, Netherlands, Spain, Cuba and Germany have been already accredited in the press center of the tournament. In Sofia are the TV teams of the Russian NTV+Sport and the Indian Doordashan TV.

This year the press center of M-Tel Masters will be at the square by the glass pavilion, where the six GM’s will play. A special tent will be made for the journalists.
