Estonian and two Bulgarians in competitive battle in Play like Topalov

(Sofia, 21 May, 2009) Estonian and two Bulgarians are having a very competitive battle for the first place in the game Play like Topalov. The game traditionally runs on the official web site of M-Tel Masters – www.mtelmasters09.com and in it can take part every chess fan. The goal in the game is to guess the moves of the 19th World Champion in the ten games that he plays in the tournament. The prize for the winner is a chess game against Veselin Topalov before the next edition of M-Tel Masters.

The participant from Estonia, registered in the web site with the name Radulov is Valery Golubenko. It is supposed that his nick name comes from the family name of the famous Bulgarian GM and one of the pioneers of chess in Bulgaria Ivan Radulov. So far the Estonian has guessed 128 moves of Topalov in the 7 rounds of M-Tel Masters 2009 already played. There is a serious competition for the first spot in the game from the Bulgarian from Varna Valentin Minchev. His nick name in the web site is Valexin and so far he has guessed 126 moves of the leader in the world ranking Topalov. Only 4 less is the score of Alexander Monev from Sofia, registered as Monev in the web site of the tournament – 122 correctly guessed moves of Topalov for 7 rounds of M-Tel Masters 2009. The small difference in the score of the top 3 players in the current ranking means that this is the most competitive edition of the game so far.

As each year, the game Play like Topalov will continue till the end of the last game of Topalov in the tournament. Today the participants will be able to try and guess the moves of the Bulgarian GM from his game with black against Leinier Dominguez in the 8th round of M-Tel Masters 2009.
